Practicum Placements
Bil-Iman Counselling welcomes practicum students from accredited social work and counselling programs. Students gain hands-on, supervised experience in faith-integrated, evidence-based practice, working across individual, couples, and pre-marital counselling under the direct supervision of a Registered Social Worker.
What makes supervision here different
Supervision at Bil-Iman Counselling goes beyond standard clinical oversight. Students are supported in integrating Islamic teachings alongside evidence-based approaches like CBT and the Gottman Method, learning to hold both frameworks with confidence rather than treating them as separate. It's a training opportunity that's genuinely hard to find elsewhere, working with a supervisor who has lived this integration both academically and professionally, not just studied it.
Placement structure is flexible and tailored to your program's specific requirements, whether that's a set number of hours per week, a defined term length, or particular learning objectives. Depending on the stage of your training, this may include direct client contact under supervision, case documentation, and regular individual supervision sessions to support your development.
